Mash bill: Published by the distillery. Charcoal-mellowed before barrelling, which is what makes it Tennessee whiskey rather than bourbon by label.
Age: No age statement; upper-rickhouse barrels generally reported around five to seven years.
Tasting Notes
Barrels pulled from the top of the rickhouse, where the temperature swings are hardest, and it shows as considerably more oak than any standard Jack. A genuinely different proposition from the black label.
Nose
toasted oak, banana, vanilla, light char
Palate
caramel, spice, oak, soft smoke
Finish
long, oaky, smooth
Best enjoyed neat, rocks.
